Stop Gun Violence
We need to pass common sense gun laws such as background checks. Missouri needs red flag laws that allow authorities to confiscate guns from unstable indviduals and those convicted of domestic abuse. We need to keep illegal weapons out of the hands of young people and provide positive alternatives to gang culture.
Fight Corruption
It's time to end pay-to-play politics where the biggest donors dictate policy. I'm running to make sure the voice of the people, your voice, is heard above the multi-millionaires, giant corporations, and their lobbyists.
Support Our Children
Missouri ranks 49th out of 50 states in spending on education. Republicans who control state government are shortchanging our children. We need to invest in good public schools, colleges and universities to prepare today's young people for the careers and challenges of tomorrow.
Protect Voting Rights
Republican legislators across the nation are passing laws aimed at making it harder to vote. We must stop this new wave of restrictive laws here in Missouri. I will do everything in my power as a member of the General Assembly to push back against those who would deny you the right to vote.
Hasten Economic Recovery
Many of our local small businesses suffered during the pandemic. As your next State Representative, I will work to help small business and encourage new business start-ups. They are the backbone of our local economy. I'll also work to help attract the types of businesses to our area that pay a living wage and offer good benefits.
Promote Justice
We must demand accountability from those we entrust with the protection of our city. There must be an end to racial profiling and continued promotion of social and economic justice. Discrimination must end whether against someone based on their race, religion, sex, or sexual orientation.
Support Healthcare
After voters approved expanding Medicare in Missouri, the Republican controlled General Assembly failed to budget the funds. Though the Missouri Supreme Court ruled against them, they continue to assault health care and restrict local government's ability to protect the health of citizens in a pandemic. I strongly support access to affordable healthcare, science based public health decisions, and support for all front-line workers.
Address Climate Change
With the wildfires and droughts in the west and record temperatures, climate change is not a distant notion... it is here. Besides supporting green and climate friendly energy initiatives, we should be looking to expand greenspace and tree planting to reduce urban heat domes.
